MFT Stamps 2018 Design Superstar challenge

MFT STAMPS Card Design Superstar?

My first challenge since my 1st and only challenge in 2012.  I decided to do a couple of cards for the challenge.

My first card is for the "Clean and Simple Genius" category.  Well let me tell you, CAS  is never a design I go to.  I always tend to "complicate" things.  But for this challenge, I got an idea in my head and just went with it.  I think it would be considered CAS.

I started out by masking and stamping the images from MFT's Sweet Succulents stamp set.  Then I did the background using the MFT Scattered Bars stencil.  I used Pumice Stone Distress ink for the stencil.  Then, while my masks were still on, I used MFT's Distressed Patterns stamp set to add some "splatters".  And then I set out coloring with my Zig clean color markers.  I think this is the second time I've used them.  After the coloring was complete, I added a white embossed sentiment on a strip of MFT's Black Licorice card stock from the "Anything- But -Basics birthday wishes" Stamp set.  I die the cute the image panel with the large rectangle from the Blueprints 15 die set and mounted it to  MFT's Grout Gray card stock. Here is a picture of the finished project.

I was happy with it.  I hope you like it.

I also decided to enter the Coloring Virtuso category.  Well, this is a stretch.  I do love to color and most of the time it turns out pretty good.  Copics are so forgiving.  :-)

For this card, I used the Birdie Brown, Which Way to the Candy stamp set.  I did a whole lot of stamping and masking to make a row of pumpkins to anchor the cute little witch and for a perch for the cat and hiding place for the little frog, both of whom appear to be under the cute little witch's spell.

After I had all of my images masked off, I copic colored the night sky, creating a moon and then once that was complete, I added some Copic Opaque white ink splatters.  Then I used a gazillion Copics to color the stamped images.  I didn't time the sky, but the images took well over an hour to color.

I must stay I love how it came out.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set.  Added Glitter Gloss from the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to pretty much everything, added some glossy accents to the cats bow tie, the buckle on the witch's hat and her shoes, and to the frog's eyes.  I glued the image panel to MFT's Black Licorice card stock after die cutting it with MFT's large rectangle from the Blueprints 15.

And here it is, I am so happy with how it turned out.

And here is one showing a little more of the shimmer.

And here is a picture of them both together.  I spent a lot of time on these guys this weekend and it was so much fun.  I make a lot of cards for work, but i have been neglectful in getting them on my blog.  I have to change that!

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know "witch" one "sticks" out as your favorite and wish me luck.

Gerda Steiner coffee monsters

Hi, here is a card I made for my 14 year old nephew who just had spinal surgery.  I know, sounds rough, and it was and is.

We wanted to send him a gift card and wanted to cheer him up and what better way to cheer someone than with some cute coffee monsters.  I colored these little guys while we were traveling back home from PA.  I used my prismacolor pencils to bring them to life.  I think they turned out pretty cute, considering I haven't ever really colored with these pencils.  I am so rusty on lots of things.  Any way,  here they are.  He did say the card cheered him up, so that's good news.

This is the front of the card.  Each monster represents a member of our family.  :-)

This is the inside of the card.

I hope you like these little guys as much as I do and as much as my nephew did.

Have a great day, and until next time, thank you for being kind to animals.

A few new cards

Well, it's been quite awhile.  I have made a few birthday cards.  I've posted them below.  I hope you enjoy them.  Please leave a comment and become a follower.  Hopefully, I'll get more active on here soon.  I love making cards, I just have to make the time to do it.

First, I have to start out with a picture of Bella.  She has got to be the craziest kitten ever.  Here she is all wrapped up in the sheets I was trying to fold. She's such a star!

Here is the first card.  The stamp is Cupcake Mimi from Penny Black.  I colored her with copics and popped the cupcake up on dimensionals and added stickles like crazy!  This card was for a little girl in my son's class who was turning 6. The sentiments are from AmyR's Sweet Sentiment Stamp Set.

This is the inside of the card.  The inside sentiment is from a 2012 Penny Black clear set called "Sweet Wishes"

Here is a close-up of Mimi.

Here is another birthday card this time using My Favorite Things Jolinne-Sprinkles on Top and AmyR's Sweet Sentiment set again and the cupcake "sign" is CC Designs Party Time Logos
This is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from the MFT Jolinne with sprinkles on top.

Below is my favorite.  The stamp is from TheGreeting Farm, her name is Reeta.  She is unfortunately retired, but I with a lot of web searching I was able to find her from a sweet crafter in California.

This is the inside of the card.

And here is a close-up of Reeta and her sweet little kitty. I've got to work on my hair coloring.  I colored her with Copics, paper-pieced her cute little skirt and added Stickles.

Here is a card I made for my mother-in-law.  It took me forever to decide on the papers and the layout and I wasn't sure I was happy with it, but when I look back at pictures, it didn't turn out too bad.  I ended up liking it.  The image is CC Designs Cupcake Birgitta.  I colored her with copics and added sprinkles.  I used the AmyR Sweet Sayings set again for the sentiment and the circle sentiment is the from the same CC Designs Party logos set from above.

The inside is kind of simple, but using a similar layout as the front.

And here is a cake I made for my little boy's 3rd birthday.  He's just crazy about Angry Birds.  I wasn't too thrilled with it, but he loved it and that's all that counts!

 Here is a top view.

Hope you enjoyed my latest creations and I hope you have an amazing day!

2 Christmas Cards and Bella

Hi, it's been awhile.  I finally got to make a couple of Christmas cards.  Not nearly what I wanted to do, but I have to be positive about any accomplishment! I've got to find a better spot to take pictures of my cards.  The first picture is of our new kitten Bella.  She is why we haven't really decorated the tree this year.  Who knew she would love climbing the tree, swatting at everything that moves and chewing on the cranberries.  Oh well, she is pretty ornament though!  Please check out my cards below and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season.

The next picture is of a card I made for my Grandma (in-law).  I used CC Designs Fa la la Emma and created the background for her using the CC Designs Joy Music.  I am entering her in my very first challenge ever.  All that Scraps Wednesdays Challenge is anything goes and runs through January 1st.  Wish me luck.

Here is a closeup of Emma...I added stickles to her wings, dress and halo.

Here is the inside of the card. I hope she likes it. The interior sentiment is "Glory to God" by Stampabilities.

This second card is one I made to hold a gift card for our postal carrier.  He does such a great job of delivering all of my "hauls".  This card uses a snowman stamp from Inkadinkado.  The front sentiment is from Amy R's Snowman Sentiments and the inside sentiment is from Hero Arts Laughter and Merriment clear design stamps.  Please leave comments below and as always, thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have an amazing day!

Another Card

I was browsing through my pictures and found a picture of this cute little card I made for one of my son's friends.  He was turning five.  I just love this little dog stamp.  He has the sweetest little face.  (In fact, I love it so much, I bought another one when I saw it on clearance at Michael's).  I hope you like it.  Have an amazing day.

Cards that I've created

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of cards I've created in the past.  Hopefully I'll be able to get back to card making soon or I'm going to miss making Christmas cards..YIKES!  These are all beginner cards, like my first Magnolia card for my Grandmother's 92nd birthday.  I forgot to take pictures of the insides of some cards before I personalized them.  A few of these were inspired by Outlines Rubber Stamp company.  I think I have almost all of there stamps, sadly they are not in business anymore, although, Hampton Arts has been releasing some "Outlines" stamps recently.  Also, some feature CC Designs stamps...love 'em! And they are having a new release in just a couple of days..can't wait.  Click over on their banner for a looksy. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and there will be more soon and hopefully videos too.  That's my goal anyway.  Have an amazing day!
